Gulf of Mexico Resource Advisor Training (Virtual)
A Gulf of Mexico Resource Advisor Training will be held virtually on August 3-4, 2022, from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm CT.
Local resource advisors (or biological monitors) monitor field work to ensure coastal resources are protected during debris removal operations. Coastal resource stakeholders in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida—including NOAA staff—are invited to attend this training.
Resource advisor training classes are unique opportunities to connect several facets of the OR&R (and broader NOAA) mission. The class is hosted jointly by OR&R’s Marine Debris Division and Disaster Preparedness Program, with significant contributions from OR&R's Emergency Response Division and Assessment and Restoration Division; NOAA Office of National Marine Sanctuaries and Office for Coastal Management, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Space is limited, and registrants will be notified if they have been selected to attend.
