Presentation: Microplastics as Marine Debris

Andrew Mason, NOAA's Marine Debris Program Pacific Team Lead
Wednesday, September 15, 2021

Join the Jefferson County (Washington State) Marine Resource Committee and the Port Townsend Marine Science Center for a presentation on what constitutes marine debris—with a special focus on microplastics—by Andrew Mason, NOAA's Marine Debris Program Pacific Team Lead.

Andrew will share information about NOAA's Marine Debris Program, including its mission, the FY21-25 strategic plan, and the ramifications of the Save our Seas Act 2.0 on the Marine Debris Program.

This virtual talk precedes the September 18th beach cleanup around Port Townsend.

This coupled speaker and in-the-field event is the first in a series that the Jefferson County Marine Resources Committee is co-producing with the Port Townsend Marine Science Center.
